A COUPLE have scooped £1 million after buying a Lottery scratchcard in a Leeds newsagent.

Grandparents Joan and Malcolm Nicholson were in shock after revealing the top prize on a National Lottery £5 Monopoly scratchcard, bought at Arden News, city centre Boar Lane, on Saturday afternoon.

They caught the bus home to their rented house in Allerton Bywater, and enjoyed gammon, chips and peas before discovering their win.
