A new festival is capitalising on Yorkshire’s dominance as the home of UK cycling with an inaugural event in Leeds over this coming weekend.

‘Pedalling Ideas’ brings together an eclectic collection of speakers providing inspiration about life on two wheels.

Talks are varied with former jewellery designer, Caren Hartley discussing her work now as one of the few female cycle frame builders in Britain; writer and musician, Jet McDonald on the philosophical experience of cycling from Bristol to India and Andrew and Philip Diprose creators of personal rider journals.

Organiser Ian Street said: “Riding a bike is fun, and the journeys we take on them are vastly different. Pedalling Ideas will bring these stories together.” The event is at Duke Studios in Leeds.
