Leeds’s First Direct Arena today scored a major coup as it announced a show by US rock legends Pearl Jam.
The band’s date at the £60m venue on July 8 next year is one of only two UK concerts they are playing on a nine-country European tour.
Best known for hits such as Alive and Even Flow, Pearl Jam have sold around 60 million records worldwide.
Tickets for their Leeds show are priced £55 and go on sale at 9am next Friday, December 20.

Purchases can also be made in person from the box office in the customer service lounge at the Trinity Leeds centre.
News of the concert comes as preparations continue for the 13,500-capacity arena’s biggest event to date, Sunday’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards show.
