Yorkshire: 75 Enid Blyton items up for auction
A treasure trove of items that belonged to children's author Enid Blyton is being auctioned in West Yorkshire.

The sale will take place later this month in Ilkley, where Blyton's daughter, Gillian Baverstock, lived before her death in 2007.
Items which belonged to the Noddy, Famous Five and Secret Seven author that will be on offer at Hartley's Auctioneers in Little Lane include:
* Original typescripts for stories including Five On A Hike Together, Last Term At Mallory Towers and Cheer Up Little Noddy;
* Books annotated or autographed by Blyton;
* Nine watercolour illustrations;
* A first edition of Blyton's earliest book, Child Whispers, from 1922 ;
* Six of Blyton's fur coats, embroidered in the lining with EMDW – her initials from her second marriage.
The auction will feature more than 75 Blyton-related lots.
Hartleys is selling most of the items on behalf of Mrs Baverstock's estate. Auctioneer Andrew Hartley, said: "It's fascinating stuff, especially if you're a Blyton fan."
Mrs Baverstock moved from London in 1967 when her husband, Donald, became director of programmes at Yorkshire Television.
The sale is on September 15 at 10am.
