X Factor stars head for Party in the Park

WITH chart-toppers McFly, Alphabeat and Scouting for Girls already lined up to perform at Party in the Park, this year's show certainly has the X Factor.

And now, three of the most successful acts in the history of the ITV1 show have been added to the bill – meaning that even Simon Cowell would be impressed with the Leeds line-up.

Last year's finalists Same Difference, better known as siblings Sean and Sarah Smith, 2006 winner Andy Abraham and former contestant Maria Lawson will take to the stage at the event on Sunday, July 27.

They will be joined by Swedish DJ Basshunter, who hit number one this year with Now You're Gone.

Coup

Radio Aire breakfast show presenter Simon Logan said "Basshunter is a real coup for Party in the Park. He's already done one of the year's biggest tunes and I reckon he could go top three in the charts this week with his new track, All I Ever Wanted."

Also confirmed to appear at the event at Temple Newsam Park is Scottish singer-songwriter Sandi Thom and solo singer David Jordan. The summer extravaganza is organised by Leeds City Council in partnership with 96.3 Radio Aire and backed by the YEP.

Around 70,000 people are expected at the free concert, with another 50,000 due at Opera in the Park on Saturday, July 26.

Due to extremely popular demand, all the tickets for Party in the Park have now been snapped up - but the YEP is giving away five backstage passes in our Golden Ticket competition, every day next week.

To be in with a chance of winning, simply listen to Simon Logan's breakfast show on Radio Aire from 8am each day, listen out for the Party Password; and then fill in the coupon in the YEP.

Opera in the Park tickets are still available from The Carriageworks Box Office.
