As the hunt for his killers continues, the First Team Player of the Year award for his former team, Wortley Boys, was presented to midfielder Barrie Danby, 19.

Barrie, who knew Adam well, was presented at West Leeds Social Club with the award by Adam's parents, Jackie and Martin as Adam's daughter Ruby, three, looked on.

Martin Chadwick told Wortley Today: "We see it as a great honour for Adam. When they announced the award the room fell silent and we think that was a measure of the respect members held him in.

"Many people came up to us to say how sorry they were about what had happned . It was very moving."

Paul Hatfield, the club's third team and under 13s manager, who had coached Adam, said: "He was a pleasure to coach and a thoroughly nice lad."

Mr and Mrs Chadwick donated a Leeds United team shirt which is to be raffled to raise funds for the club.
