Whitby: Park and ride scheme delay

Plans for a £2.4m park and ride scheme in Whitby have been put on hold because of government cutbacks.

It had been earmarked for a site on the outskirts of the town near Cross Butts Farm, because existing car parks have proved inadequate to cope with the number of vehicles, and many of Whitby's streets are too narrow for parking.
