West Yorkshire Playhouse: Bhangra comes to Leeds
There will be dancing in the aisles at West Yorkshire Playhouse next month when Britain's Got Bhangra comes to Leeds.
Rifco Arts' production is being performed on the Quarry Stage from July 13 to 17, and charts the rise of British bhangra music from the sequin-clad 80s through to the RnB fusion of the current charts.

The first musical of its kind, it tells the story of Twinkle, who arrives from the Punjab with a song in his heart and no money in his pocket.

He becomes a local star and is snapped up by a producer who realises there is money to be had from bhangra.
The cast include award-winning performer Shin, the lead singer and driving force behind legendry bhangra band and double platinum disk award winners DCS; Sophiya Haque, who has appeared in Coronation Street and Bombay Dreams and Natasha Lewis from Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd.
