Poachers have decapitated a deer in a rural part of West Yorkshire.
Police said this morning (March 21) that the deer’s head was dumped in a field at the roadside in Woolley, near Wakefield.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police’s Wakefield Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team said this morning: “Cruel and vicious poachers have killed a deer in Woolley. The deer was brutally decapitated and it’s head dumped in a field close to the roadside on Warren Lane.
“The area surrounding Warren Lane, Woolley is a hotspot for lampers and poachers. Please keep your eyes open for this kind of activity and report any suspicious people or vehicles.”
