It was all about bunting and the blitz spirit when a corner of Leeds held its very own 1940s-themed VE Day-style celebration.
The event in Wortley was organised by Sue Dempster to raise money for male cancer charity Orchid.
Sue lost her husband Chris to testicular cancer in June.
The fundraiser in Stadbroke Way included fancy dress, with many turning up in wartime costumes and uniforms. Highlights included a ‘knock it to Hitler’ type games stall.
Guests on the day included Leeds Lord Mayor councillor Ann Castle.
Orchid provides support services to men suffering from testicular, prostate and penile cancers, as well as doing pioneering research and awareness work.
