A new housing development is west Leeds is set to be launched.

Mill Beck Park in Farsley will unveil a new four-bedroom showhome and two-bedroom show apartment at the end of the month.

The show apartment will be Jones Homes’ first show apartment at Mill Beck Park,

The firm says the first two blocks of apartments have been selling quickly, and building is well underway with the third and final block.

Jayne Swift, sales and marketing director at Jones Homes, said: “We are very much looking forward to the opening of the showhome and show apartment at Mill Beck Park.”

The YEP reported yesterday (Jan 16) that Leeds needs to build 70,000 new homes by 2028 to meet escalating housing needs.

Current targets are to build an average of 3,660 per year for the next four years, rising to more than 50,000 in 2017.

The council is pursuing a number of projects to boost housing and regeneration in the city, including a brand new drive to attract developers to the city’s 140 brownfield sites.

The city owns 140 previously developed but empty sites. The council is targeting 29 pieces of land for marketing. Many of these are inner city sites which were cleared of housing but have lain empty.
