Rail passengers faced disruption today after a man’s body was found on the tracks at a West Yorkshire rail station.
The body was found on tracks at Sandal and Agbrigg rail station in Wakefield just after 8am.
A British Transport Police spokeswoman said: “Officers are currently working to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, which is currently being treated as unexplained, and inform his next of kin. A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”
Buses were pressed into service to replace trains between Wakefield Westgate and Doncaster stations.
Trains between Leeds and Sheffield via Thurnscoe were also being diverted.
