Wet weather was to be welcomed at a special event for youngsters.

Much-loved television characters thrilled young visitors at the Great Big Wellyfest, at Blacker Hall Farm near Wakefield.

Mr Bloom, from CBeebies, officially opened the children’s kitchen garden, part of the music event also designed to inspire a love of the outdoors.

There were also appearances from Rosie and Raggles and a performance from the channel’s Katy Ashworth.
