Wakefield Council is extending its dog fouling campaign to Featherstone.
Council chiefs are warning irresponsible dog owners about the consequences of not cleaning up after their pets.
Enforcement officers will be working with police to step up patrols in the area and catch owners who fail to clean up after their dog.
Officers have the power to issue fixed penalty notices of £50 on the spot.
Coun Maureen Cummings, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for environment and communities, said: “Not everyone realises that bags of dog waste can be put in any litter bin, so there is no excuse, clean up after your dog – bag it and bin it.”
