A butcher from Wakefield – who took on the challenge aged 60 to complete five marathons before he turned 65 – is hoping to achieve his goal in Rio de Janeiro this Sunday.
Michael Richmond, who turns 65 next month, is preparing to tackle his fifth marathon in Brazil. The owner of Richmonds Butchers decided to get fit aged 60 when his wife became ill. Melissa Entwistle, his personal trainer, challenged Michael to do five marathons before he gets a free bus pass. Michael has the New York marathon and the Cannes to Nice, Moscow and London marathons.
He has raised almost £9,000 for a string of charities.
