VIDEO: Couple turn wedding day into musical extravaganza
Most brides make a bit of a song and dance about their wedding, but one Dewsbury girl has really made a big production number of it.
Caroline Coates and bridegroom Andy turned their big day into a musical extravaganza, in the latest bridal craze – dubbed "marryoke".
The duo starred in a music video of their wedding day – miming to the song That's How You Know from their favourite film, Enchanted.
Guests, including parents, grandparents and a soldier friend returned from Afghanistan, joined in, appearing in choreographed routines.
Caroline, a teacher at Cavendish Primary School, Bradford, said she spotted "marryoke" on the Wedding TV channel and decided it was perfect for the special day at Waterton Park Hotel, Wakefield. "Andy was up for it just as much as I was," said Caroline, 26.
The pair enjoy nothing more than a home karaoke session and love all things Disney. Electrician Andy, 33, has been to Disney World in Florida, five times, while Caroline has been four times.
In summer 2007 Andy proposed there and they have just returned from a Christmas trip.
The scenes in the video are inspired by those in the Enchanted film and feature Caroline's grandpa David Pratt, formerly of the Black Dyke Band, and cousin Richard Sharp playing the trumpet, plus Air Trooper
Craig Walker, of 3rd Regiment 663 Squadron Army Air Corps in a comedy act on drums.
Although she describes herself as shy, Caroline said she wasn't nervous about her big performance.
Though she knew her voice would be dubbed with the vocals of Enchanted star Amy Adams for the final cut, the school choir leader said: "I sang my heart out".
Jennifer Page, who runs 4 Life Films, Halifax, made the video and planned the shots in advance.
She said it was the first "marryoke" she had produced, but is predicting more now it has been viewed more than 9,000 times on YouTube.
