Video: Strictly Come Dancing winner Darren Gough waltzes into Leeds
Former Strictly Come Dancing winner and Yorkshire and England cricketer Darren Gough was in Leeds to reassure the elderly they can waltz through the digital TV switchover.
Goughie put former Tomorrow's World presenter Maggie Philbin – an ambassador for the BBC-run switchover help scheme – and a group of over 75s through their paces at Leeds City Station.
In Yorkshire analogue BBC2 will be turned off first on September 7 next year with all remaining analogue channels being shut down a fortnight later on September 21.
Householders will need a digital-ready television, a subscription to a satellite or cable service, or a set top box to convert an old television set, if they are to continue to watch their usual shows on digital.
The majority of Yorkshire residents are already watching television in this way.
A switchover help scheme has been set up to help vulnerable people convert their TV to digital.
