Video: Residents visit Leeds park as Santa flies in by chopper

Santa has swooped into a Leeds park to give families a visit ahead of Christmas.

Mr Claus arrived in style via helicopter to put a smile on the faces of youngsters and their families at Springhead Park, in Rothwell, on Sunday.

The free-to-attend event, organised by Rothwell Ladies Circle, brought mince pies and warm drinks to the park in a bid to rustle up some festive spirit.

Hundreds of residents wrapped up and ventured out into the cold to see the bearded icon in person.

Leeds-based choral group Let’s Sing 26! entertained visitors along with Leeds Rhinos’s mascot Ronnie the Rhino.

Rothwell Ladies Circle is a social group made up of 18 to 45-year-old women, who have fun and fundraise.
