LECTURERS from Leeds universities took to the picket line today over pay issues.

Crowds marched from the University of Leeds to Victoria Gardens on The Headrow, where a demonstration was held.

It’s the third day of strike action by members of the University andCollege Union (UCU), UNISON and Unite.

The latest move is a further escalation of the unions’ industrialaction over a one per cent pay rise offered to university staff.
