Budding football stars of tomorrow had a chance to impress the Leeds United chairman as he visited a school to see a new scheme in action.
Salah Nooruddin saw some of the skills of youngsters at Kirkstall St Stephens C 0f E Primary School in Leeds.
They were taking part in the Leeds United Foundation’s Taking it to the Kids scheme, aiming to ensure all five to 11-year-olds across the city have access to football coaching and health-related activities.
Following a successful pilot earlier this year, the initiative has just been officially launched.
Mr Nooruddin said it had been great to see the pupils taking part in the scheme which promotes healthy living and aims to strengthen links between the club and communities.
“They are full of energy and happiness so I have enjoyed it.
“The purpose is also to increase awareness of the club among the younger population.”
Taking it to the Kids will involve 240 schools throughout the city, with more than 20,000 children to benefit.
