Leeds Crown Court clerk Janet Walsh proved to be a good judge of a fundraising idea when she organised a lunchtime “zumbathon.”
Court staff, probation workers, Crown Prosecution staff and two judges all enthusiastically joined in with zumba teacher Peyton Martin for the hour-long session raising about £2,000 for charity.
The money will be split between Breast Cancer Care and Prostate Cancer UK.
Janet told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “It was quite hard work for some but everyone seemed to enjoy it. We burned off a few calories but put them back on afterwards when we celebrated with sausage rolls and pork pies.”
The court clerk added: “We do a serious job and it’s nice to show we have a fun side.”
