THE daughter of Jane Tomlinson spoke of her pride and her mother’s legacy after an emotional run in the first Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon.
Becky Tomlinson was among 6,100 runners who lined up for the event in and around York and finished in a personal best of three hours and 23 minutes – 12 minutes faster than her previous fastest.
Becky, 25, said the run had been an “amazing experience” and paid tribute to the thousands of spectators who lined the route of the run, set up in memory of her mother, Jane, from Leeds who raised huge sums for charity while battling cancer.
Becky was greeted by father, Mike, who gave her a hug as she crossed the finishing line.
Becky said: “It has been fantastic, and I have loved every minute and I will be doing it again.”
