VIDEO: Couple tie knot with Harley convoy

It was a motorbike marriage made in Harley Davidson heaven.

Leeds couple Sue Holt and Michael Wilson, members of the Aire Valley UK motorcycle club, were escorted to their wedding by a 25-strong Harley guard of honour.

Their big day began with 45 people crammed into the Yeadon home of best man and matron of honour Steve and Elaine Walker, where a bacon and egg buttie breakfast was served.

From there, the dream machines lined up outside, Dave Farrand, the club's head road captain at the front, and roared off towards Leeds Town Hall.

The Harleys, stunning bikes at any time, had been specially tweaked for the event.

Some carried ribbon favours, while the bride and groom's was adorned with black and white skull and crossbones balloons.

Sue said four riders had originally signed up to be the escort, but the numbers grew when word spread around their club.

She explained: "More people kept asking to be part of it, it is a lovely touch, it is making a brilliant day that bit more special. I was never going to get married in anything other than black leathers, we just love biking and especially Harleys.

"They are such beautiful machines, it is their sound and their look, they are just fantastic. The feel when you are being carried along on one is like nothing else."

There was an extra special touch to Saturday's ceremony, as it was held five years to the day that the happy couple first met, at Yeadon Carnival.

After tying the knot, Sue and Michael took their place in the convoy and rode off to their reception, stopping at Leeds Harley Davidson shop, in Kirkstall Road, along the way.

Up to 120 people were expected to join the party long into yesterday morning, the bash topped off by a spectacular fireworks display.

Honeymoon plans, naturally, are summer biking trips, with a ride to Aviemore, in the Scottish Highlands, pencilled in.

And despite the tough image attached to bikers, Sue admitted to having a tear in her eye as she left for the Town Hall.

"I did have a cry," she laughed. "The bride is supposed to on her wedding day."
