They’re names that will certainly get the bodies shaking of fans of a certain age.

Dane Bowers, 911 and 5ive sold millions of records between them during their musical heyday of the 1990s.

Now they are set to Slam Dunk Da Funk on the concert circuit once more after appearing on hit TV show The Big Reunion with other stars of yesteryear.

And for one member of 5ive, a gig later this year at Leeds’s First Direct Arena will represent something of a homecoming.

Leeds-born Sean Conlon, who was at the arena yesterday with Dane, who is a member of Fifth Story, and 911 pin-up Lee Brennan to talk about their tour.

Sean told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “Playing Leeds Arena is a big thing for me.

“The first time around it wasn’t built and I never got to play here.

“On the first Big Reunion tour I saw Leeds arena on the list but then it was taken off because the venue wasn’t finished so being a Leeds lad I was devastated.

“This second chance has come about and I will be able to tick that box.

“I feel really lucky, privileged and excited to play here.

“I’m just looking forward to catching the eyes of my family because they all live here.”

Lee Brennan added: “Leeds has a different layout to most arenas we have played.

“It is like a huge theatre and I just can’t wait for a northern crowd because they are great as always.”
