TV winner Sadie says she's in the mood for dancing

Competition champion is thanking her Yorkshire fans with show double

By Paul Robinson

SHE'S the talented teenager with the world at her feet – but for now Strictly Dance Fever winner Sadie Flower is just enjoying life back in her native Yorkshire.

Sadie has been spending as much time as possible relaxing at home in Methley, Leeds, since she waltzed her way to glory on the hit BBC1 show earlier this month.

Today, though, the bubbly 19-year-old was preparing for 48 hours that promise to be every bit as exciting and hectic as one of her trademark dance routines.

On Saturday Sadie will get the chance to say "thank you" to her supporters at a celebration party being held from 8pm at the Koala Beach Bar, at Castleford's Xscape complex.

Then on Monday she and her Strictly Dance Fever partner Joseph Hall will be performing at an exclusive bash at Room restaurant, on Boar Lane in Leeds city centre.

The evening will also mark the official launch of the new www.sadieflower.co.uk website.

Today the dancing queen told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "Hopefully both nights will be really special – I can't wait for either of them."

Sadie, who stayed in a Buckinghamshire mansion during her run in the TV competition, added: "I'm absolutely loving being in Yorkshire again.

"It's been pretty busy, though. I've been travelling to London a lot for interviews – but the highlight has been going back to my old school in Methley.

"The children all seemed very pleased to see me, which was so nice.

"It's started to sink in now that we won the programme. At one stage I didn't think I was ever going to come down to earth!"

Chosen

More than 80,000 people applied to take part in Strictly Dance Fever, which was hosted by Graham Norton.

Thirty couples were chosen to be in at the start of the main show in March, and it was then that Sadie and Joseph were paired together.

Their eventual final win earned them 50,000 in cash, a promise of places in a touring musical production and the opportunity to strut their stuff on Top of the Pops.

l Monday's get-together at Room is an invite-only affair – but 10 pairs of tickets to it are up for grabs to YEP readers.

To be in with a chance of attending, simply ring Sadie's competition hotline on 07899 880483.

The event will be for over 18s only.
