THE M1 motorway in South Yorkshire is closed in both directions today following a serious accident, with traffic chaos across the county.
There is standing traffic in both directions between Junction 37 with the A628 at Dodworth, and Junction 38 with the A637 at Woolley.
Police said a lorry was involved in the accident.
Diversion in operation but drivers are being advised to expect long delays through the afternoon and evening rush hour.
