Ticket giveaway bonanza

TICKETS for two top events on the Leeds entertainment calendar are part of a special giveaway tomorrow.

A free ticket launch takes place for the annual Classical Fantasia concert at Kirkstall Abbey and a special preview of the new Leeds City Museum.

Tickets will be available for Classical Fantasia between 10am and noon at Millennium Square with two per person on a first-come, first-served basis. Those for the museum are available from 11am-1pm in The Carriageworks (four per person).

Those who pick up museum tickets can get into the 20m museum 30 minutes before it the official opening weekend of on September 13 and 14.

A total of 1,000 of these preview tickets will be available at the giveaway, with 500 given away each day.

Classical Fantasia takes place on September 13.

The combination of the Northern Ballet Theatre Orchestra and the 12th century abbey lit up in a range of colours makes for a memorable event traditionally enjoyed by a crowd of 9,000.

Fantasia, now in its 13th year, has also become famous for a stunning fireworks display as Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture brings the performance to a close.

Requests for disabled access tickets for Classical Fantasia should be made, enclosing an SAE to: The Events Team, Leeds Town Hall, The Headrow, Leeds, LS1 3AD.

A limited number of disabled access tickets will also be available for the museum. Send an SAE to: James Elliker, Site Development Officer, Leeds City Museum, Millennium Square, Leeds, LS2 8BH.
