Detectives investigating the death of a baby girl in West Yorkshire have arrested three people on suspicion of murder.

A man and two women have been quizzed by officers who are looking into the death of 21-month-old Summer Mai Rogers-Ratcliffe.

Summer, of Nook Green, Dewsbury, died on February 28 this year.

She had been admitted to Dewsbury and District Hospital the previous day and was then transferred to Leeds General Infirmary where she died.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that a 33-year-old man and two women, aged 26 and 56, had been arrested.

The three people, all from the Dewsbury area, have been bailed pending further enquiries.

An inquest into Summer’s death was opened in May to allow the release of her body for burial.

A police spokeswoman said enquiries suggested Summer had died as the result of head injuries.

Earlier this year, members of the Thornhill community took part in a charity walk in memory of Summer.

Thornhill Trojans rugby club also hosted Summer’s Fayre in July to raise money for a memorial garden to commemorate the tragic tot’s death.
