Temple Newsam: sport facilities upgraded and vital work carried out around lake
The Temple Newsam estate is getting a major environmental and sports facelift.
Sports changing facilities have been upgraded and spruced up.
And across the estate a major environmental project is under way to clear vegetation round the Menagerie Lakes.

The newly-improved changing facilities at Temple Newsam's pitches provide facilities for both sexes all year round for footballers, community and school groups.
A report carried out by environment consultants Young Associates in January this year revealed that one of the lake's main feeds, Colton Beck, had been eroding the small valley in Fox Covert Wood, on its way to the upper lake at Menagerie Wood.
The report said that this was due to the beck receiving storm water run-off from the housing developments to the north of the estate resulting in rapid rises in peak flow.
Two culverts have been damaged, the one entering the upper lake in need of substantial repair work.
Councillor Bill Hyde, leader member for leisure, said: "It is essential we get this work done before serious damage is done to the waterways in and around the Temple Newsam estate."
Other work around the upper and middle lake, plus the zone either side of the beck has also been identified and scheduled for a later date.
