The printed designs on the jacket show lovers in various clinches in 18th century rural settings.
The jacket will stand alongside rare-printed cottons, silks and jewel-like velvet from the Henry Ginsburg Collection, which was bequeathed to Temple Newsam House and is regarded as one of the most significant gifts of textiles to a British Museum.
Standing in 1,500 acres of parkland, the house has an international reputation for its outstanding collections of furniture, paintings, textiles, silver and ceramics.

Ginsburg was a renowned scholar of Asian art and manuscripts and son of the famous American antique dealer Cora Ginsburg.
The exhibition, My Most Treasured Pieces, showcases the most spectacular items in the Ginsburg bequest including 18th century brocades, an early ecclesiastical silk and an array of English and French printed cottons.
Of particular note is an enormous scrapbook of historic fabrics given to Ginsburg by his mother to encourage him to take an interest in textiles.
The collection, which boasts about 1,500 objects, came to Temple Newsam in a series of gifts spanning four years.
On show is the final part of Ginsburg's collection which he referred to as his "treasured pieces." They came as a bequest in December 2007.
Leeds council bought the Westwood jacket at auction in June.
Coun John Procter, executive board member for leisure, said: "The historic textiles in this exhibition are stunning and should be seen in person to fully appreciate the details of the designs.
"The newly-acquired Vivienne Westwood jacket is a real coup for the exhibition and adds a special touch being inspired from the collection."
Supported by the Leeds Arts Collections Fund and the Textile society, the exhibition opens tomorrow and runs until March 29 2009.
