Teenagers arrested after Leeds car crash

Motorists face chaos

FOUR teenagers have been arrested after a car crash claimed the life of a 23 year-old woman.

The smash happened on Colton Lane East, Colton just after 9pm last night (Sunday).

A grey Ford Focus collided with a grey Kia Rio near to the junction with Colton Garth.

The Kia was travelling towards Garforth and the Ford the opposite way towards Cross Gates.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police told the YEP: “A 23-year-old woman, who was a rear seat passenger in the Kia, received fatal injuries. The other occupants of the Kia - two men and a woman - were taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.

“A 17-year-old passenger from the Ford was taken to hospital with injuries that are also not considered life threatening.”

Four boys aged 16, 17, 17 and 18 have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101.
