‘Suicide pact’ couple found in Leeds house

A COUPLE have been found dead in Leeds following a suspected suicide pact, it is understood.

The man and woman, thought to be married and aged 64 and 57 respectively, died of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning at their home on Wood Hall Road in Calverley.

Paramedics were called after their bodies were discovered at around 8.30am.

The couple have yet to be named.

A police cordon has been set up outside the property.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Officers received a call at 8.36 am this morning from the ambulance service reporting the sudden death of a man and a woman at an address on Wood Hall Road, Calverley .

“A 64-year-old male and 57-year-old female were pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries into the full circumstances are continuing but police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.”
