STEREoPHONICS are the latest big name act to sign up for a date at Leeds Arena.

The Welsh rockers, whose hits include ‘Have a Nice day,’ will perform at the new venue on Friday November 15 as part of their first arena tour since 2010.

As a lifelong Leeds United fan, frontman Kelly Jones will no doubt be hoping the Whites have a home fixture the day after the gig.

Tony Watson, Leeds Arena sales and marketing director, wrote on his blog: “As the arena boss, all good bookings please me but this one is a special one for me.

“I’ve always loved this band. So, I’ll be booking the night off, buying standing tickets and being a proper fan for the night.”

The tour will follow the release of new Sterephonics LP ‘Graffiti On The Train’, which was released earlier this month.

Stereophonics have been on the alternative rock scene for over 15 years, chalking up an impressive five number one UK albums along the way.

Indian Summer, their latest single, is their 26th top 40 hit.

The band from Mid Glamorgan have headlined some of the UK and Ireland’s biggest festivals, including Reading and Leeds Festival in 2000, Glastonbury in 2002 and Oxygen festival in 2010. Tickets for the show at Leeds Arena on Friday November 15 go on sale from 9am this Friday. They are priced from £32.50 to £39.50.
