a post office in Yeadon is set to be transformed as part of a refurbishment scheme.
The post office will be modernised into a main style branch with longer opening hours to help enable it to offer more services.
The transformation will start on October 29 and the post office will be opened on November 9.
The scheme will also enable the branch to extend its opening hours.
Local councillor Ryk Downes has welcomed the news and said he hopes it will make the branch more accessible to the community.
Coun Downes (Lib Dem, Otley and Yeadon) said: “The Post Office in Yeadon has always been a busy branch providing a vital service for local people.
“By extending the opening hours and improving the facilities it will help safeguard the future of the branch, as well as making it more accessible.
“Investment in Yeadon is always welcome.”
