St Gemma's Hospice: Tennis tournament invite

If tennis fever has struck and got you in the mood for a match, then why not sign up for the St. Gemma's doubles tennis tournament?

The event is being held at Chapel Allerton Tennis Club on Saturday, August 29.

The tournament will be for intermediates, so if you play at this level then we would love to have you compete.

The tournament will be a knockout style so you can play your way to the final if you beat off your competitors. Either enter on your own and be matched up or enter with a partner and battle it out together.

Refreshments will be provided to participants and it promises to be a great day for all involved.

* Click here for Moortown Today's Community Directory, where you will find basic information on a wide range of local community groups and organisations.

Entry fee for the event is 10 per person and we ask you to raise sponsorship.

If you would like to take part in the event and raise money for St. Gemma's simply call Fran on (0113) 2185505 or email: francines@st-gemma.co.uk

All St. Gemma's asks is that you raise as much as you can in sponsorship money.

St. Gemma's Hospice Fundraiser Fran Shilton, told Moortown Today: "This is a great opportunity for people to become involved in an intermediates competition and raise money for a worthy cause at the same time. Participants can bring along their family to support them on the day."

Moortown-based St Gemma's provides specialist medical and nursing care for local people with life threatening illnesses, predominantly cancer, and support for their families too.

Care provided is free of charge to patients and their families, so St Gemma's relies on donations and local fundraising initiatives in the community.
