Spring and summer events list unveiled at Harewood House
ANNUAL RALLY: Rolls Royces will be at Harewood House on August 5.
With Spring about to spring, Harewood House has unveiled its jam-packed line-up of family-friendly events.
Kite flying, beekeeping and jousting are just a few of the attractions which will lure visitors to the historic house this year.
Pottery classes and alpaca wool spinning will run from Saturday, February 11 to February 19 as part of the Love Nature event.
The half-term event also includes walks around the grounds and talks from experts.
For a memorable Mother’s Day on March 18, Harewood House is offering a lunch and glass of bubbly in the newly refurbished Courtyard suites as well as floristry workshops and pottery classes for adults and children.
For an egg-cellent Easter weekend, youngsters can take part in an Easter egg hunt, visit the Children’s Craft Village and watch Harewood’s own chef demonstrate traditional chocolate egg making.
Beekeeping Taster Day Workshops will be held throughout June with the Harrogate and Ripon Beekeepers Association.
The skies above Harewood will be filled with kites and inflatables during the popular Kite Festival on May 19 and 20.
Everyone is invited to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a Street Party on June 3 where they can enjoy classic English food at the Courtyard Cafe.
Harewood will be gearing up for its Father’s Day Classic Car Rally on June 17 when hundreds of vintage cars drive in to the grounds.
The Harewood Medieval Faire on June 30 and July 1 will include jousting, archery, armoury displays, historical traders, crafts, puppet shows, Medieval music, games, falconry and storytelling.
Perfect pooches will be put to the test at Leeds Championship Dog Show from July 27 to 29.
Rolls-Royces will pull up at Harewood House for the annual Rally on August 5.
It will also host its own version of the Olympics called Games in the Park on August 11 and 12.
