South Leeds street’s facelift is welcomed by locals

residents from Woodville Square, Belle Isle, celebrated a street makeover with a summer tea party.

The day of sunshine, cupcakes and fun activities was held to celebrate recent work by housing association Leeds Federated to improve the environment of Woodville Square. New alley gates have been installed to prevent the square being used as a cut-through, new fencing has been put up and the area has been re-landscaped. Many local households got on board with the tidy up.

Georgina Nijjar, a manager with Leeds Federated, said: “The boundary walls and paving at Woodville Square were looking tired and needed replacing. Leeds Federated asked residents what improvements they wanted to see and worked with Groundwork Leeds on the redesign and landscaping. We wanted to improve the area for the local community. I’m pleased that residents are pleased with the results.”
