A SNAP happy student from Leeds is making sure her latest project is picture perfect.

Every day for the past year, photography student Chelsea Waring has been taking to the streets of Leeds to capture some of the city’s most interesting characters as part of her 365 Days of People project.

The Leeds City College student has been snapping and chatting to passers-by and posting their stories online.

Chelsea, 20, hopes to turn the images into a book in the future.

She said: “It has helped me with everything from my photography skills to my confidence.

“I have interviewed so many different people from different walks of life.”

Speaking about her favourite images, she said: “Diane (pictured top left) is the most inspiring woman I have met throughout this project. Interviewing her really made my day if I am honest, and I feel her positivity is incredible.

“I really like the photograph of Timothy, however taking it was a challenge as he was diving around the street when it came to taking a photograph of him.

“I found Melvena really inspiring, and she proves that regardless of what troubles a person goes through, if they work hard enough they can get to where they want to be.

“Some of the interviews feel very honest, and this is definitely one of them.

“Gill stood out to me because of his really interesting life story, and the way he trusted me enough to share everything with me.

“Marcell’s photograph is one of my favourites in the series, however I found it really upsetting that he has to live in England away from his family, in order to earn money and provide for them.

“Marcell’s interview really taught me how different each walk of life is, and how lucky so many of us are.”

Chelsea also took pictures for the project during visits to London, Berlin and Amsterdam.
