The winners of the prestigious Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Awards 2014 have been revealed.

The awards, now in their sixth year, reward the best cafes, restaurants and bars in the region.

Hundreds of guests gathered in the Centenary Pavilion at Elland Road, Leeds, to hear the honours announced.

The big success of the night was Crafthouse restaurant, based in Trinity Leeds, which swept the board, winning three categories and taking the major prize of the night for Overall Winner.

Judges said: “Every aspect of this restaurant speaks of its quality. The service is as polished as the silver, the atmosphere as classy as the food.”

The Outstanding Contribution award was won by Kendells, a French bistro on St Peter’s Square in Leeds.

Judges said: “It offers amazing atmosphere, outstanding food, good value and a warmth of welcome that is a pleasure to experience.”

Broadcaster Jon Hammond and editorial director of the YEP Jeremy Clifford hosted the event, handing out accolades in 16 categories, from formal restaurants to friendly cafe bars.
