Slideshow: Hunky firefighters pose for charity photoshoot

  • by Stuart Robinson

Hunky firefighters are set to send temperatures soaring among ladies in Leeds with a red hot new calendar.

The big-hearted crews at fire stations across West Yorkshire have agreed to strip off to help raise cash for charity.

The Red Hot Dates calendar marks the first time in five years that the region’s firefighters have posed up, after a number of hugely successful previous photoshoots.

Brighouse Fire Station manager Dom Furby, who first came up with the Red Hot Dates idea in 2004, said: “We are all incredibly excited to see the return of Red Hot Dates.

“Everyone involved has put in a great deal of work, all in their own time, so we are certain that those who buy a copy won’t be disappointed.

“If these guys can’t brighten up drizzly September day, nothing will.”

Those featured in the calendar include first time models alongside some of the favourites from the 2007 edition, which raised £26,000.

All the firefighters are pictured at work, with fire safety messages running alongside each one.

Mr Furby added: “I’s fun, but the serious message is that we want to bring vital fire safety messages into as many homes as possible, while at the same time raising money for some fantastic charities. Don’t let your money burn a hole in your pocket – order your Red Hot Dates calendar now.”

The calendar will be available to buy from mid-September and costs £5, with all proceeds going to The Fire Fighters Charity, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Laila Milly Foundation.

Pre-order your copy by emailing redhotdates@westyorksfire.gov.uk calling Michele Worrilow on 0113 2822410/0113 2532223 or visiting www.redhotdates.org.uk.

The calendar will also soon be available at Marks and Spencer on Briggate, Leeds, and at the Huddersfield Town club shop.

It will be launched at a black tie event at The Queen’s Hotel, Leeds on Saturday, November 10.

Tickets are available for £25 from the same contacts as the calendar.
