A VINTAGE salon in Leeds is giving customers a blast from the past.

Le Keux Vintage Salon and Barbers, set up by two sisters, has opened its doors in the city centre.

The 50s diner-style salon and barbers offers customers vintage make-overs, hair styling, make-up, manicures, burlesque classes, afternoon tea, cocktail masterclasses and even photo shoots.

Owner Lynsey Le Keux opened her first successful salon in Birmingham before deciding to bring the brand to Leeds – where her sister Diablo Rose, also known as Mel, lives.

Mel is now the creative director and is in charge of running the Leeds salon.

Maryam Snape, sales and PR manager for Le Keux Vintage Enterprises Ltd, said: “Lynsey started off doing the business mobile and it kind of evolved into the bigger business and expanded into events.”

Five years later, Lynsey opened a store at the Custard Factory in Birmingham, which has been a huge hit with the locals.

Speaking about the decision to branch out into Leeds, Maryam added: “The one in Birmingham has kind of exploded onto the scene and we can’t really handle the demand.

“It’s so popular.”

The business attracts a range of customers but also plays host to several hen and stag parties.

The men’s side of the business includes a cut throat wet shaving service, vinyl DJ workshops, cigar connoisseur classes, chauffeured cruises in a 1964 convertible Ford Mustang and photo shoots.
