Beer fans will be raising a glass at the Headingley OktoberFest this weekend.
The German-themed beer festival offers tipples from around the world as well as dozens of locally sourced ales.
The New Headingley Club will host the three-day event, which runs until Sunday, October 13.
Mark Sullivan, chair of the social club, said: “We did Headingley Beer Festival last year but wanted to do an OktoberFest themed event this year.
“It’s a chance to showcase our club to potential new members, bring the community together, integrate students in the local community and support businesses and local breweries.”
He added: “In the long term, we hope to get real ale into the club and build on the relationships we establish with local breweries.”
The New Headingley Club, on St Michael’s Road, currently has over 900 members.
During the festival, the venue will see local bands entertain crowds and German food will be served for punters, including bratwurst and rotwurst.
Beers and ciders will be on sale from a wide range of local breweries including Ridgeside, Kirkstall, Wharfebank, Osset, Goose Eye, Old Bear, Roosters, Salamander and Saltaire and there will also be a variety of carefully selected German and world beers available.
Chris Hill, one of the organisers, said: “Last year completely outstripped our expectations and attracted people from across Leeds and beyond.
“The feedback about the beer, music and food was fantastic and this year we’re confident that we can produce an even better event at a superb venue that offers spacious grounds, space for a marquee as well as a bar and events room which will ensure it’s a success regardless of the weather.”
North Leeds letting agent Morgans has joined forces with the event as its main sponsor.
Jonathan Morgan, managing director of Morgans, said: “Last year was the first Headingley Beer Festival and it was a huge success, attracting thousands of visitors. This year it promises to be even better.”
Tickets cost £2 and the event runs from noon to midnight on Saturday and until 11pm on Sunday.
