Specialist body search dogs have been brought in to help police in their hunt for missing Dewsbury girl Shannon Matthews.

In an emotional plea the mother of missing nine-year-old Shannon Matthews urged anyone holding her to let her go.An exhausted and weepy Karen Matthews said today that she believed someone had Shannon and pleaded for her safe return. The 32-year-old admitted that her daughter had a habit of not coming straight home, but dismissed any suggestion that she had run away.

Police today revealed that they now had Shannon's full DNA thanks to the co-operation of her family and fingerprints from her school books.
