There was rush hour chaos on Leeds ring road today after as a driver had to be cut from his car following a crash.
The man, who was driving a Nissan Almera, was involved in a collision with another Nissan car at the junction with Clayton Wood Rise at about 8.40pm.
Police closed the clockwise carriageway while firefighters from Cookridge took the roof of the car before the man, thought to be in his thirties, was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries.
Long queues formed as the incident was dealt with. Emergency serviced were at the scene for about 90 minutes.
The driver of the other car was shaken but not badly injured.
