Rush hour chaos as Leeds traffic gridlocked

l

l

Commuters faced rush hour chaos in Leeds today after roadworks gridlocked routes into the city.

Long delays were reported on the A65 from the north as traffic ground to a standstill on Kirkstall Road.

Delays were also reported by drivers travelling from Dewsbury and Wakefield.

New roadworks on Whitehall Road, and an accident on the Armley gyratory system were blamed as drivers took to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

Said one: “It’s amazing how the roadworks only sprang up yesterday afternoon, after the Prime Minister and the Cabinet had left the city.”
