Roundhay's Talbot Primary: Pupils share classroom with snake
Youngsters shared their classroom with a leopard and a giant snake as part of an environment awareness week at Roundhay's Talbot Primary.
The pupils joined in activities focused on reducing, reusing and recycling.
They visited allotments, designed their own recycling bins and heard from visitors about recycling, composting and looking after the planet.
The school has just planted a gardening corner with three giant raised beds and also built and installed composting bins to grow vegetables.
Other features of the week included a classroom transformed into a tropical rainforest, complete with life-size endangered animals, and a "have a go green day" in which children put on a fashion show using recycled materials and raised money for a water-aid charity.
