Richmond House Primary: Pupils tune in for musical masterclass
Pupils tuned in for a musical masterclass at their Headingley school.
Youngsters at Richmond House Primary in Headingley were visited by about 30 choristers from Ripon Cathedral Choir School to learn about the world of music.
The singers, aged between nine and 13, gave an insight into the life of a chorister through a series of presentations and performances at the independent Leeds school.
This included singing practice before the start of the school day and daily evensong.
Jane Disley, head at Richmond House, said: "It was a joy to listen to the singing and fascinating to hear of the choristers' busy routine. We are very grateful to them for finding the time to come and visit us."
Ripon Cathedral Choir School was founded in 1960 and is a co-educational day and boarding school for children aged between four and 13.
Its choir has recorded several CDs and regularly performs at festivals, concerts and special services both locally and internationally.
Ripon Cathedral Choir School headmistress Patricia Burton said: "We were delighted to visit Leeds and share a little of our choral lives with the children from Richmond House.
"The children here have shown a keen interest, so you never know, we may be well on the way to attracting new choir members."
