Wakefield’s roller derby team will unveil a sleek new look as they take on a fierce Yorkshire rival next weekend.

Wakey Wheeled Cats, who train at Lightwaves Leisure Centre, take on Sheffield Crucibelles at Dewsbury Sports Centre on Saturday June 21.

And they will look the part with the new uniform, which has taken the best part of a year to get design perfected, and comes just after the team celebrated its fifth anniversary in April.

Cats’ captain Kirsty Quinn said: “The new uniforms have been a long time coming and add a real boost of confidence to the team. Sheffield are an experienced team and last time we played they won by just a handful of points. Both teams will be eager to come out on top.”
