Pudsey: Row over countryside homes bid
Residents fear that they will lose their precious countryside if plans to build 6,000 homes between Leeds and Bradford are given the green light.

More than 6,000 homes could be built on the Tong and Fulneck Valley and people in Pudsey fear that it will have a knock on effect on their town's infrastructure.
A local action group has been set up to protect the area and they will be holding a walk on Saturday morning from Tong School Room.
Gordon Dey, chair of Tong Fulneck Valley Association, said: "We were
quite horrified frankly to hear about this. It is a unique area that lies between Leeds and Bradford.
"There are very few cities that have this and it is hard to believe that people could be talking about it because it is such a unique factor.
"We want this area to be kept for the benefit of the community. It would destroy the countryside."
Local councillor Josie Jarosz (Lab, Pudsey) said: "The space between Leeds and Bradford is getting thinner and thinner.
"It's very worrying for Pudsey because it will have a knock on effect for the town with schools, roads and doctors even though it is on Bradford land.
"The development will be an absolute disaster."
A Bradford Council planning spokesperson said: "In developing the Local Development Framework Core Strategy we have been considering the comments and issues raised by the public.
"We hope to publish the preferred option later this year but we are committed to the regeneration of Holme Wood."
