Pudsey: LazyTown's Sportacus visits Asda
He came, he saw, he somersaulted.
Children's superhero Sportacus – star of hit TV show LazyTown – parked his airship in the skies and popped into Pudsey's Asda store for an extra special Children in Need fundraiser.
Hundreds of young fans – many of them wearing their own version of Sportacus' distinct blue costume - joined in with the sponsored 'move-a-thon'.
The youngsters had queued from 8.30am to see their hero, and they were not disappointed.
Sportacus took the energetic crowd through their paces with a series of exercises including stretches, aerobics, acrobatics and even some ballet dancing!
The adults didn't escape either, as several parents were hauled onto the stage to pit their strength against the athletic Icelander.
Many of the young fans later had a chance to meet with their hero, and get a signed certificate congratulating them for their move-a-thon efforts.
And after an energetic morning, Sportacus left Leeds armed with a whole supply of 'sports candy' – his favourite energy food, apples – which many of his young fans had presented to him as gifts.
Sufiyaan Mahmood, six, from Holbeck, was one of around 500 children who excitedly queued to see Sportacus in real life for the first time.
"It was really good fun," he said. "I love Sportacus. I hope he comes back next year!"
